My Mum is my Inspiration; she gave everything in her personality to the family and me, as she did to all that she knew.To lose Mum so long before she was done with her life will never be justified or fair in anyone’s mind, although her care and love will be cherished and hopefully continued through friends and family. Mums work for charity has been relentless in recent years, whether its completing fun runs or being a huge part in organising the fund raisers for local events, mum was very charitable and all about helping others until the end. Now I feel is our time to step up. I know if Mum hadn’t been taken from us she would have loved to be a part of this and that’s why I am so keen on getting it done and raising as much money as possible for such a good cause.
I am in my first year at Newcastle University studying Chemical Engineering, which is awesome, as long as I pass. I spend too much time socialising and following sport, and not enough time completing Uni work… but now I have another hobby, getting myself fit enough to complete this amazing challenge! Wish us luck and get donating! It’s all for you Mum x

I have always wanted to do this ride so when we heard this news I knew that now was the time to step up. I have known Paddy all my life and she has done so much for me. I am very frustrated that nothing can be done for her so I feel this is a way I can hopefully make it a little easier for others in this situation.
I start my first year at University at Harper Adams shortly. I also play Rugby for Ludlow Rugby Club and enjoy the beer. Massively looking forward to the challenge.

I want to do the bike ride because it’s such a big challenge which I want to look back on in the future and be proud to have taken the opportunity and carried it through to the end. The funds raised will be going to a good charity which Paddy chose so it makes the hard work and preparation worthwhile and is also great motivation.
Personally in my spare time I go to the gym, play sport and go out and have a good time. This year I spent 4 months in australia and new zealand. I had the time of my life, seeing
and doing some amazing things and hope to go there again in the future! At the moment I am training to become a mechanical technition where I stay a week at a time at a training facility in Warwick and should be fully qualified by July 2011. I plan to enjoy life and take each day as it comes.

Paddy had a major influence on my life, as she did with everyone else doing this bike ride. She sacrificed a huge amount of time and effort for others. I don’t think it will be possible to fully repay her for all that she has done, but I hope that this ride goes some way to doing so. I know this is something that Paddy would have loved to do, so it only feels right to celebrate her in this way.
I am in my second year at Newcastle University, studying architecture. I am a very keen sportsman, currently playing university rugby and cricket for Corvedale in the summer. Although surfing and mountain biking are also high on my agenda, and a sneaky bit of football. This ride is something I’ve always wanted to have ago at, and am really looking forward to completing it with such a great group of friends.

This bike ride is going to be a huge challenge. A challenge that I want to take on and a challenge that is going to make money for a great charity chosen for by Paddy which makes it an even more fulfilling challenge!
I am currently working as a Personal Trainer in Telford which is a great job and something i enjoy. Being able to able to help others achieve there goals through my knowledge is very rewarding. In my spare time i too like to party and like lead a good social life and play a few sports on the side (even if i dont do it very well
). I am now looking forward to the ride and more so the change that the money we raise can help to achieve.

Paddy was simply inspirational to us all. She did a lot for charity, a person who truly cared for so many, and yet asked for nothing in return. This ride may seem a big challenge for us, however in comparison to what Paddy had done throughout her life, it is just a small step. I am really looking forward to giving something back to such an amazing person, alongside best friends, who feel the same way.
I am currently at the University of Wales, Cardiff, studying Sport Development. I enjoy all sports and play rugby and cricket for Ludlow. I can’t wait to do this ride, a true challange mentally, and physically, and at the end of the day, for a great cause!

Completing the bike ride will undoubtedly be a huge achievement for myself, and the rest of the boys. Paddy’s enthusiasm and commitment were both aspects of life I will continue to aspire to. I’m sure this challenge is something Paddy would have loved to be a part of, so raising money for her chosen charity makes it all the more fitting.
I am currently in my first year at the University of Manchester. In my spare time I play golf, rugby and cricket for Ludlow, as well as several trips to the coast for surfing during the summer! I’m really looking forward to the challenges ahead, and especially completing it with a good bunch of friends!
Freddy Brick 17,
I want to do this for my mum. She only had a short life compared to what she deserved but she threw everything into it, and I know for a fact that this would had been just the sort of challenge she would have loved to get her teeth into. She was an inspiration to everyone she knew and will live long in everyone’s memory, and that is my incentive to complete this great achievement for myself but more importantly for my mum, who was one of a kind.
